Renowned ultra-runner and coach Rory Coleman has joined Walking With The Wounded, as a Coaching Partner. Rory will focus on coaching the charity's ultra-running fundraisers, specifically those participating in upcoming Marathon des Sables (MdS) events.

Rory has had a 29-year running career and completed over 1,100 marathons and 17 Marathon des Sables races. Despite facing paralysis after being diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome in 2016, Rory defied the odds and completed his 1,000th marathon in 2017. He has a global celebrity client base and coached WWTW’s 2024 MdS team.

Commenting on his role, Rory stated, “I am excited to continue working with the incredible fundraisers who support Walking With The Wounded and those who have served. Running an ultra-marathon takes dedication, passion, and determination. I have helped hundreds of people reach the finish line of their ultra-marathons, and I look forward to enabling WWTW fundraisers to realise their full potential and achieve their ultra-running goals.”

James Davis, WWTW Events Manager, added, “We are thrilled to welcome Rory onboard as WWTW’s official Coaching Partner. This is an exciting opportunity for our ultra-running fundraisers to gain invaluable coaching insights, training plans, and nutrition advice from one of the top coaches in the country. With Rory’s expert advice, our 2024 Marathon des Sables team completed the notoriously challenging desert race across the Sahara this year.

We look forward to working with Rory to support more WWTW ultra-runner fundraisers and help them cross the finish line.”
