Who are Walking With the Wounded?
A military charity providing vital support
Walking With The Wounded are a veterans charity that provides a pathway to help vulnerable ex-servicemen and women reintegrate into society. Our programmes of support cover three areas: mental health, employment, and support care coordination. By running on behalf of WWTW, you’ll be supporting these men and women into sustainable employment and helping them regain their independence.
As part of WWTW, not only will you be part of the largest team at the event, you will be able to meet and hear directly from the ex-servicemen and women you support. Other perks include:
- Receiving unrivalled expert advice and inspiration from our previous runners such as Duncan Slater, the first double-leg amputee to complete the MdS, and Britain’s highest-ever finisher Tom Evans (3rd in 2017)
- Opportunities to take part in physical and virtual meetups
- WWTW branded kit to use in the desert
- Dedicated support with your fundraising to roar past your £5k target
In 2024 our participants also received support from coach and world record holder Rory Coleman, and we're pleased to announce that Rory is now our Coaching Partner returning for 2025.
