🏜️ From the South Downs to the Sahara – My Next Challenge
This year, I set myself two big goals: to lose 25kg and complete a T100 Triathlon in Dubai. Training was going well, and in June I took part in a 50km ultra across the South Downs. To my surprise, I actually enjoyed it — and thought, “If I can do that… surely I can do the Marathon des Sables!”
Luckily (or so I thought), the event was sold out, so I joined the waiting list and spent the next few months convincing myself how easy it would’ve been if I’d had the chance. Unfortunately for me, a spot became available in late September — so now it’s time to put my money where my mouth is!
I’m proud to be supporting Walking With The Wounded, a fantastic charity that helps veterans rebuild their lives.
Over the next five months, I’ll be training harder than ever to take on the world’s toughest footrace — and I’d love your support. The MDS Legendary is a 250km self supported race through the Sahara Dessert. Being self supported I will be carrying all of my own food, water and equipment. The only provisions by MDS are the tents in the evening and water stations every 10km. If that was not difficult enough the fun loving events organisers have added an extra 20km next year to celebrate their 40th anniversary. Any donation, big or small, will make a real difference.
I’ll put in the hard work… if you put in the cash!
This is not safe Jamie :)... but all the best !
