Completing the Marathon des Sables has been a personal goal of mine for a long time. I’ve always been inspired by the idea of testing myself to the limit both physically and mentally, and there’s no challenge quite like six days and over 250km across the Sahara Desert, carrying everything I need on my back.
But this year, it’s about more than just the challenge. I want to put this long-held goal to work for something bigger: supporting Walking With The Wounded, a charity that helps veterans and their families overcome mental health struggles, unemployment, and the challenges of life after service.
The MdS will push me beyond my comfort zone, the heat, the distance, the sandstorms, the blisters. But those hardships are nothing compared to the daily battles faced by those who’ve served. That’s why every step I take will be for them.
I’ll be sharing the journey on Instagram @MDS.DESERTDIVERS the highs, the lows, and hopefully the finish line 🏜️.

Good luck Lee, you will smash this. Thank you for helping to keep our country safe xxx
